The high-energy environment of United Commercial Realty (UCR) is a direct result of the passion and creativity exuded by UCR President, Mickey Ashmore. Becoming the largest retail real estate services firm in Texas has taken leadership, a caring attitude, a knack for communication and the ability to build a strong team. Mickey's exceptional ability in each of these areas has led to a dramatic increase in UCR's client list and leasing portfolio.

Mickey has a commitment to strong partnerships, a talent for attracting skilled senior agents and an ability to mastermind solid strategies. These traits have increased the reach of UCR by attracting partners in San Antonio and Austin, as well as expanding a presence for UCR nationwide with its affiliation in ChainLinks Retail Advisors, a network of retail brokers, where he is the immediate past chairman of the board.

In addition to his leadership of UCR, Mickey is also a founder and partner of UCR Urban. UCR Urban, “Putting retail in its place”, is a recognized industry leader in retail real estate services focusing on “Main Streets”, transit-oriented developments, and mixed-use projects. Mickey has personally been involved in the leasing of Southlake Town Square, Mockingbird Station, the Knox Henderson District, and Midtowne Little Rock.

Most recently, Mickey added UCR Asset Services and UCR Investment Sales to the UCR list of specialties. UCR Asset Services provides services such as project leasing and marketing, asset and property management, construction and facilities management, financial management and due diligence. UCR Investment Sales provides acquisition, disposition and investment advisory services to owners and investors of retail real estate properties.

Mickey has also personally represented retail tenants including adidas, AMC Theaters, Brio Tuscan Grill, Borders Books and Music, Design Within Reach, Nike, Viking, ZARA and Z Gallerie

Prior to becoming president/CEO of UCR in 1992, Mickey served as executive vice president for Hopkins-Shafer Company. His background prior to real estate includes coaching soccer, teaching speech and English, directing the season ticket sales for a national soccer team and working with his father selling automobiles.

Raised in Dallas, Mickey received his Bachelors of Science degree in Education from the University of Arkansas and received his Masters of Education degree Texas A&M University - Commerce (formerly East Texas State University). When away from the office, Mickey enjoys being an oenophile, cooking, traveling, photography, playing golf and fly-fishing.
