Jean Smith began his professional career immersed in all aspects of his family’s retail furniture business. This experience has given him a retailers perspective about site selections and operations, thus allowing him the knowledge to know the components necessary to select quality retail real estate. Jean’s caring attitude, sincerity and knack for communication melds easily with UCR’s CEO, Mickey Ashmore, creating a strong team which has in-turn made UCR one of the most successful retail real estate services firm in Texas.

With more than 22 years of experience in retail real estate, Jean is the consummate tenant advocate. Currently, he is coordinating the Texas rollouts for Target, Life Time Fitness and Sprouts Farmers Market. For the past decade, while working through numerous real estate representatives, Jean has completed more than 100 leases in Dallas-Fort Worth for Blockbuster Video. Prior to the CVS/pharmacy buy-out of Eckerd, Jean spent four years repositioning and opening over 40 new units in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Jean was voted in D CEO as one of the "best commercial real estate brokers in Dallas". In 2006, he was honored by his peers by being selected to the board of directors of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors.

A native of Dallas, Jean received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University.
