New retail center planned in Frisco
6.20.2007- Steve Brown, Dallas Morning News

Frisco will be getting still more shopping space when developers start work next week on a new retail center.

Eldorado Market Place will be a 400,000-square-foot shopping center at the northwest corner of Eldorado Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway.

The project is scheduled for completion next spring and will be anchored by a Market Street supermarket.

Duggan Realty Advisors and United Commercial Development are breaking ground on the development on Monday.

Other tenants lined up for the project include Chase Bank and Sovereign Bank.

Lubbock-based grocer Market Street already has North Texas locations in Colleyville and McKinney. At the Frisco project, they will also have a drive-through operation for prepared food.

The project includes about 50 acres, said developer David Dunning.

"It's a great intersection," Mr. Dunning said. "I owned the land and sold it to an investment group but wanted to develop it with them.

Major retailers including Target and Home Depot have already staked out other corners at Eldorado and the tollway and Costco is said to be looking at a deal.

United Commercial Realty is leasing the project.
