In 2001, United Commercial Realty was contracted by Eckerd Drugs to assist them with their long-term strategy in rolling out the emerging markets within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, reposition under-performing units and roll-out new stores in small Texas markets.
Because they did not have a developer program in place, Eckerd utilized UCR’s real estate services to assist in re-evaluating their marketing strategy in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and middle markets in Texas. UCR assisted Eckerd in evaluating specific trade areas and negotiating sites for prospective new build-to-suits. We subsequently worked with Eckerd-designated new developers in completing the entitlement process in order for the developer to close and then complete the build-to-suit for Eckerd.
Prior to the sale of Eckerd to CVS Pharmacies, UCR assisted in opening 22 prototypical freestanding Eckerd’s in their last year in the Dallas/Fort Worth market.
