In 1994, unsure if their concept would work in the southwest, Starbucks hired UCR to develop a strategic plan for site evaluation and procurement for their test market in Dallas.
Working with Henry S. Miller III, UCR targeted Highland Park Village Shopping Center as the “marquee” Starbucks store in Dallas. Within a year of opening their “marquee” store, Starbucks opened more than a dozen stores throughout Texas by 1996. Today, UCR and ChainLinks Retail advisors have helped locate and open more than 150 stores throughout Texas.
